Support for robotics students and researchers in Japan

The Bio-Inspired Robotics Lab at ETH Zurich would like to support students and researchers of the relevant fields in Japan. Please feel free to contact us for more details of visiting and collaboration opportunities.

For further information please contact Prof. Fumiya Iida from ETH Zurich. http://www.birl.ethz.ch

Access to neutron scattering, muon spectroscopy and meson factory facilities of the Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland

The high-intensity proton accelerator of the Paul Scherrer Institute serves three major user laboratories on one campus: the only continuous spallation neutron source worldwide (SINQ: http://sinq.web.psi.ch/), the world’s most powerful continuous-beam μSR facility (SμS: http://lmu.web.psi.ch/) and a meson factory for fundamental nuclear and elementary particle physics (LTP: http://ltp.web.psi.ch/). The facilities are open to international access based on peer scientific review. For academic purposes the use of the facilities is free of charge.

Scientific proposals from the Japanese user community are highly welcome and will in the current situation be treated specially. Please contact the user office with your proposal and eventually request for support.

The Paul Scherrer Institute, PSI, is the largest research centre for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. PSI performs world-class research in three main subject areas: Structure of Matter; Energy and the Environment; and Human Health. By conducting fundamental and applied research, PSI works on long-term solutions for major challenges facing society, industry and science.

Collaboration for visiting students and scientists at NTB Buchs

The Institute for Production Metrology, Materials and Optics (PWO) at NTB Buchs is spezialized in optical and contact measurement techniques of coordinates, geometries and deformations. Our laboratory institute is fully equipped with modern measurement instrumentation from tactile 3D precision coordinate measurement to surface metrology to optical non contact and full field 3D measuring techniques (fringe projection, digital holography, interferometry, speckle interferometry, and many more). The well equipped optical laboratory allows researchers to develop new optical measuring techniques.

We offer students and scientists to visit our institute and join our research team to perform joint research projects.

For further information see http://www.ntb.ch/pwo

If you are interested please contact Prof. Andreas Ettemeyer: andreas.ettemeyer@ntb.ch
