Internship Opportunity in China

Since the start of its pilot phase in 2004, the Sino Swiss Science and Technology Cooperation (SSSTC) has endeavored in promoting scientific cooperation between Switzerland and China. During the action phase 2008-2011, this effort has taken the form of supporting research and institutional cooperation and exchange of personnel. In our further effort to serve Swiss students and universities, we have decided to support the internship program launched by the swissnex China. In order to help and kick start the program, the SSSTC has agreed to provide a maximum of 20 Internship Scholarships. A list of positions available can be found on the SSSTC website, as well as in swissnex China's website. These positions are open to all Swiss university students, including students from the Universities of Applied Sciences (prerequisite: Swiss citizenship or Swiss permanent residency, i.e., type C permit). Please be aware that only the positions announced in the SSSTC webpage enjoys the support of the SSSTC Internship Scholarship.

*Required Documents:

• Cover Letter in English: The letter shall show your motivation to do an internship abroad and especially for the specific position. In addition in the letter you should also state your key competences.
• CV in English with clear indication of written and spoken level of English
• Last transcripts from your home institution
• Letter of recommendation from the latest academic supervisor or a Professor of the home institution (not necessary but beneficial for the selection)

Selection Procedure:

Students should send the complete applications to the SSSTC program office before the deadlines. Selected students may be asked for an interview by phone or in person with the SSSTC program office. Companies offering the positions will make the final selection, contact the students and inform the SSSTC program office of the offer concurrently. The Internship Scholarship will be awarded to the first 20 interns selected on a first come first serve base according to the time when the SSSTC program office is informed of the selection by the company.

Scholarship Condition:

A total sum of CHF 1’000 will be awarded to the first 20 SSSTC interns. CHF 500 will be awarded after the date of start has been confirmed and the airline ticket has been paid for. Another CHF 500 will be awarded after the internship is over and a report has been submitted and accepted by the SSSTC program office.
