The Korean-Swiss Science and Technology Programme aims at fostering the scientific and cultural exchange between researchers of the two countries. The first two years of the programme focused on providing seed funding for academic visits and exchanges of faculty, scientific staff or students, as well as for the organisation of joint meetings or conferences. The programme then shifted to funding research projects with slightly larger amounts of money in its third and fourth year. In the actual period, these research projects will be taken over by the SNSF.

In the future, the programme will focus predominantly on supporting workshops in the field of information and communication technology (ICT in 2013) as well as further topics to be defined in close cooperation with the Associated Leading House, the University of Geneva and the local contacts in Korea.

The Swiss National Science Foundation is coordinating and managing bilateral project funding in the form of joint research projects.
