ETH Zurich fosters outstanding talent and world-class science to build capacity and generate knowledge for responding to challenges of a rapidly transforming world.

The ETH Global Strategy supports the main strategic goals of ETH Zurich: to strengthen its position as a prime education centre as well as a world-class science and technology research university and to support knowledge transfer.

In addition, the ETH Global Strategy goes beyond the immediate benefit of international relations to ETH students and faculty as well as Swiss society by emphasising the corporate responsibility of ETH Zurich towards the global community.

Strategic goals

In the global strategy ETH Zurich defines three main goals for its international activities.

Educating future leaders and experts
ETH Zurich aims at attracting outstanding talent and educating visionary, responsible graduates who are prepared for the global job market.

Addressing challenging and complex research topics
ETH Zurich provides an enabling environment for scientists to contribute innovative solutions on topics of highest relevance for present and future generations.

Positioning ETH Zurich as a forward-looking global research university
ETH Zurich strives for global visibility and recognition as a leading research university in the service of society.
